Today is the last day that Windows XP will be sold on store shelves. Personally, I did go out over the weekend and get picked up a copy. I have shifted almost entirely over to the Macbook that I got last year - the last time I even used my Windows laptop was before moving it over to the new house... prior to that, its use was intermittent since getting the Mac...
I still have things on the Windows machine that I either need to transfer over (documents, etc.), or that can only run on a Windows machine (mostly games, I digress, which I seldom play anyway)... But the fundamental issue falls back to versions. In the limited instances that I have played with Vista, I have not really been impressed (it was easier for me to learn how to use a Mac over learning Vista). Also, with all of the known issues with Vista, if I can avoid it at all, I plan to try...
Which brings me to why I bought the copy of XP... I have been toying with the idea of getting Parallels or some other OS emulation environment. When I get to that point, I'm going to want XP, not Vista.
It may not be opened for a while, but at least I have it.
